Tranquil Master Suite — Bedroom

The Brief

The client had insomnia and a bedroom that didn't help — bright blue walls, a metal bed frame, and blackout curtains that looked like they belonged in a cinema. They wanted a room that felt like a sanctuary, not a place to pass out.

Concept

Everything soft. Walls in a warm, almost-white that shifts subtly with the light. A low upholstered bed in oatmeal linen. Layers of natural linen bedding in cream and sand. A wool rug in a tone-on-tone pattern that's visible but not loud. Lighting designed for circadian rhythm — warm and dimmable, with no overhead fixtures pointing at the bed.

What We Did

Wall re-plastering and paint, custom headboard, bedding selection, lighting redesign, window treatment, and styling. We replaced the ceiling light with wall sconces and a floor lamp. Blackout lining was hidden behind linen drapery panels — darkness without the cinema look.

The Result

The client reported sleeping better within the first week. The room is the quietest in the house — not acoustically, but visually. There's nothing to see that doesn't feel soft. Even the art is a single muted watercolor. It's a room that asks you to slow down.
